Data dots are minute sticky dots that are attached to personal property and record the owners details to help identify property if it is stolen.
These markers are about the size of a pinhead and are invisable to the naked eye. They are a clear polyester product which contains a personalised identification number.
The dots are simply brushed onto property to enable easy identification by police using an ultraviolet light and a microscope, should the article be stolen.
